One of my all time favourite wedding dance floor shots

During the bride’s first dance with her dad, I noticed her mum standing quietly to the side, holding her stepdad’s hand as tears welled in her eyes. It was one of those moments that could have easily gone unseen, but to me, it said everything about the depth of emotion in the room. The love, the history, the blended family all coming together — it was layered and real. I held back, didn’t direct a thing, and just waited. The connection, the pride, the quiet support… it was all there. This is the kind of storytelling I live for — the in-between moments that mean the most.

As soon as I booked Wayne and Simon—finally making their civil partnership official after 20 years—I knew I had to create something bold to match their story. What better than a champagne spray and as many coloured gels as I could muster? This moment was loud, joyful, and unapologetically them. The rainbow lights, the movement, the joy on their faces—it says it all.

I timed this just right as the groom lifted the bride on the dance floor, surrounded by disco sparkles and celebration. Their connection, the energy, the joy—it all came together in one perfect moment. I enhanced the background tones to reflect the electric, joyful vibe of the night, matching the feeling in the room. I’m always watching for those blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments where emotion and movement align—and this one felt like magic.
